We are able to provide childcare free of charge to families where support is needed to access health appointments, counselling or treatment or where extra help is needed with coping with young children. It may also be accessed by refugee and asylum seeking parents, to access appointments and ESOL training. This service is available by referral from health visitors, social care, GP or family support worker. Parents may also self-refer. Care is offered for the days and hours agreed for six weeks after which time it will be reviewed. The average length of time parents access this service is six to nine months. During the time children are accessing respite care with us, we meet parents regularly to ensure they are benefitting from the additional support and discuss how we can continue to help them.
